Ram Shergill is an internationally acclaimed award winning interdisciplinary artist who’s career started as a photographer and has recently had his works of Amy Winehouse acquired by the National Portrait Gallery in the United Kingdom. He has worked with high profile talent such as Eddie Redmayne, Dame Judi Dench, Naomi Campbell and many more.
Initially Ram Shergill worked with Philip Treacy on a project and consequently was introduced into the world of fashion and art by Isabella Blow and Alexander McQueen, Ram became a force within the art world himself. Ever since working with Alexander McQueen in the early stages of his career, he has been inspired by the fashion icon that once stressed to him that he loved the macabre.
Shergill became one of the key imagists of the avant-garde ‘Cool Britannia’ fashion scene and one of Britain’s leading photographers and has since progressed into fine art photography and other interdisciplinary forms of art.
His work has been shown in exhibitions worldwide including Sotheby’s, The Victoria & Albert Museum, Somerset House and the Whitechapel Gallery. Shergill has had a book published by Thames & Hudson. He also publishes his own biannual magazine, The Protagonist Magazine, which features art, fashion and the best of stage and screen in an eclectic mix.
